Halloween comes early in Narberth. On Saturday, October 27, at 1pm, kids can join in the Witches of Narberth scavenger hunt. In this free family event, kids of all ages roam Narberth’s downtown looking for thirteen witches. The scavengers go from shop to shop searching for witches, and collecting treats along the way. Costumes are optional, but all hunters should bring a bag for treats. Once they find all thirteen witches, kids return to the start for a Halloween prize. This year’s featured prize for the bigger kids is a custom-designed, limited edition tin of Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty. The smaller scavengers can earn a plush Halloween toy. The Witches of Narberth was started six years ago by the Narberth Business Association. “Kids love Halloween because they get to wear a costume and they get candy,” remarked NBA president Pat Dailey, who with his wife, owns the Japanese market, Maido. “We thought, why not give the kids an extra chance to have some fun? At the same time if gives the shops in downtown Narberth a chance to showcase themselves to some new faces and to reconnect with already loyal customers.” The hunt goes until 4pm or while prizes last.
