Local high school seniors and their parents are strongly encouraged to register for an opportunity to meet with area college admissions and financial aid professionals for a FREE assessment of high school transcripts along with a review of available financial aid options at the College Access Center of Delaware County on the evening of Wednesday November 16, 2016 from 6:00pm-8:300pm.
“Parents are wondering if their student’s high school transcript is strong enough to gain admission to the schools of their choice so we wanted to give as many Delco HS seniors as possible, an opportunity to actually sit 1-on-1, with an admissions professional and get a personal review of their academic record”, says CACDC Director Julani Ghana.
The other part of the evening will feature important workshops on college financing options led by university financial aid experts, representatives from the college savings and lending industry, as well as community based scholarship program officials. Plus, every family will be invited to start their financial aid application that evening and receive on-the-spot assistance in filing their FAFSA.
Now in its seventh year, the College Access Center has become the region’s premiere, after school, community based resource location for Delco students and families for assistance with college admissions, financial aid, scholarships, and preparing for a successful career after high school.
The Center also continues to provide FREE college preparatory services to county students both traditional
(grades 8th-12th) and nontraditional (adults) including a weekly SAT/ACT Class conducted by Kaplan-Trained Facilitators, 1-on-1 Counseling, Homework Help, Math (Algebra) Development, Tutoring, mentoring programs for young men, along with parent and community workshops on admissions, financial aid, and scholarships.
ALL students MUST bring copies of their high school transcripts and any complete SAT or ACT scores for the evaluation. Parents are encouraged bring any of their 2015 tax information (including W2’s & 1099’s) so that we can begin their financial aid filing.
Confirmed admissions & financial aid participants include representatives from Cheyney, DCCC,
East Stroudsburg, Elizabethtown, Franklin Mint Credit Union, Mansfield, Neumann, PSU-Brandywine, Rosemont, Swarthmore, Temple, Wells Fargo, and Widener.
This program requires BOTH a registration and an RSVP due to limited number of actual 1-on-1 transcript evaluations available during the limited time period. Therefore parents are strongly encouraged to register their high school senior immediately by calling (610) 499-1391 or email us at: email@example.com.
