The College Access Center of Delaware County is inviting local high school seniors and especially their parents to register now for an opportunity to meet with financial aid professionals from local colleges and universities to get “expert” assistance in filing their FAFSA (Financial Aid) applications on the evening of Wednesday October 18, 2017 from 6:00pm-8:30pm.
“We understand that parents are very concerned with their college financing options and have requested direct assistance in completing their financial aid forms. This unique, collaborative partnership involving financial aid professionals allows Delco parents and students to get the earliest possible assistance in filing the appropriate forms and getting maximum financial support”, says CACDC Director Julani Ghana.
The goal for the evening is to make sure that every family officially files their FAFSA “on-the-spot” and thereby positions themselves for the best possible financial aid packages offered by the schools of their choice.
Parents are required to bring their 2016 tax return information (including W2’s & 1099’s) and are welcome to bring their laptops quick online filing with direct assistance from our experts. However, laptops will be provided for those that need them and refreshments will be served.
Now in its eighth year, the College Access Center has become the region’s premiere, after school, community based resource location for Delco students and families for assistance with college admissions, financial aid, scholarships, and preparing for a successful career after high school.
The Center also continues to provide FREE college preparatory services to county students both traditional (grades 8th-12th) and nontraditional (adults) including a weekly SAT/ACT Class conducted by Kaplan-Trained Facilitators, 1-on-1 Counseling, Homework Help, Math (Algebra) Development, Tutoring, mentoring programs for young men, along with parent and community workshops on admissions, financial aid, and scholarships.
This program requires BOTH a registration and an RSVP due to limited number of actual families that we can accommodate during the limited time period. Therefore parents are strongly encouraged to register their high school senior immediately by calling (610) 499-1391 or email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
